Church of the Virgin Comforter
The blend of architectural styles in the great church of the Virgin Comforter, built in 1290, was inspired by the churches in Constantinople. It is original in several ways. The base is shaped on an octagonal plan, while the stages are in the shape of a cross. Note the remarkable central dome raised on three stages of corbelled (or projecting) columns, the last two connected to the pillars with horizontal beams.

Venetian Fortress
Built in the late 16C and later modified, the Venetian fortress of Párga stands on a rocky peninsula overgrown with cypress and pine trees. From the top there is a superb view of Párga, and one can even see the chapels on Panagía Island and the little fort built by the French in 1808.
